  • Most members were half gassed and not interested

  • Although there may be some way to go with the club, it’s important they’re supported to engage more. I think it’s a bit ironic that people are criticising a lack of community engagement when this is precisely what this poll is about. Some comments here are great - constructive - but others are not at all which is sad. The club needs to offer nothing more than bowling. That’s it’s raison d’etre and the basis on which it applied for and obtained funding. The fact that it does offer more and is trying to extend this, should be supported and assisted. Enough of the negativity.

  • I feel it is sometimes a bit hard to get over the threshold, and it would be good to have more intergenerational and community activities like try bowls with kids. Glad that other things like the rugby and other social nights for the community are building momentum. Well done on all the hard work.

  • The bowling club is a great community asset. I'm very much aware of the load on the volunteers and I have enjoyed quizzes and functions in the licensed bar for which we have to thank several volunteers I'm sure.

  • !

  • Don't feel particularly welcome here - it is still a bit exclusive and not inclusive

  • Relying on FB pages to communicate events is not a good practice. If you have events you can use that option in FB and it makes it easier for people to find information. Use the social media correctly. I often find information about events well after they’ve happened. Is it still common practice for someone from The committee to attend other committees so there is a crossover ? They don’t have to be sitting on the other committee but observe and provide feedback. I note the crossover happening on the community Calander when it was delivered. Agree re the opening times. Appreciate that it’s run by volunteers.

  • Would be good to see more community events here
