I feel that sometimes you are not welcome to some of the events and they are not advertised well to stop you going. There are events getting funding but people should still be expected to pay something towards the events or the cafe as the funding should be based on what is made each year.
Village hall is a great resource. The flower show, quiz nights and party nights have all been fun. I have always felt welcome. Great to be able to have a wee beverage and walk home!
Not sure the costing of hiring the hall.
Could do with a spruce up outside, damaged tiles/wall around the car park is making it unsightly !
I'd like to see a great deal more investment (financial and time) in making our village hall more accessible for children and young people. Many village halls prioritise their facilities for their younger residents. We do not. I'd very much like to see that change - our children and our school are critical to the viability of our shop and our village as a whole. Without the school and the shop, we would lose the heart of our community.
Village Hall is a great venue and I think its good value, but it's so overly complicated, so many OTT rules that turn me off the idea as using it as a venue
I feel welcome to certain events, but not to others. It is a difficult balance, but could be much more user-friendly in terms of bookings, arrangements, and collaboration. These processes are over-complicated in my opinion.
I know very little about the facilities in the village hall. Living at Dunglass Park, most people view us as outside the village so little interaction takes place.
I think it is a great asset and well used
