Old Cambus Village Identity and Appearance: Old Cambus is currently identified by small council signs at each entrance to the hamlet. Would you support exploring enhanced welcome signage, such as a traditional stone "Old Cambus" sign similar to those found in neighbouring villages?

Notice Board and Information Point: The existing notice board in Old Cambus is in poor condition and would benefit from replacement or refurbishment. Would you support creating an improved community information board that could include local notices, a map of the area (including Townhead, East and West Mains, and Redheugh Farm and Cottages) and information about the Southern Upland Way?

  • I think a slow down sign on the road down to Redheugh would be good. For delivery vans and local residents alike. There are bends on that road and it’s scary for walkers when vehicles rush past. I was told by a local person a couple of months ago that they’ve lived here for long enough to “earn the right to put their foot down if they liked “ so a sign might help create a mindset shift in some cases.

  • Ideas for map and indicating routes & emergency info would also be applicable for Co’path and Cove too.

  • I can't comment with authority here as I don't actually know enough about Old Cambus.

  • I don’t know that area well enough to comment

  • The speed some motorists - and bikers - travel down the A1107 is incredible. Makes it very dangerous to pull out of driveways onto the road.

  • We do see a lot of walkers going past the notice board. Whilst we don't use it as residents it could be improved for visitors and, if not, would be better removed so as not to create a poor image.
