I feel that more transport options are essential for a variety of reasons - timing and access to current buses, better for the environment, parking, and reducing isolation. I feel this could be shared with other areas
Getting around
I also use public transport including the bus. Generally, I take the car to Dunbar and then catch a train - however, I have taken the bus too on occassion. It would be good to offer timetables to the buses at the village shop. I get a few walkers every year who are a bit disorientated and ask me about buses and trains -
Getting around
The current bus status would be a 4 hour round trip there and back to uni including transfers It’s unreliability and time gaps resulted in using a car for every trip.
Getting around
A more regular and cheaper bus service would encourage more people to use it and be much better for the environment.
Getting around
I would use the bus more now if it was more frequent. There will come a time when I am no longer free to drive and bus will be essential.
Getting around
I’d use the bus at weekends if there was a viable service, but there isn’t. My journey to work is daily car, train and bike. I’m concerned at parking restrictions coming in Dunbar as it doesn’t account for those of us who use it as the local public transport hub. I’d be paying an extra £100 a month for taking the train beyond the £200 I already pay. Choice then becomes driving all the way.
Getting around
The very poor planning change around the 253 has in my instance meant I do not use the service as it no longer meets my needs. It fails to deliver appropriate connections to towns, other transport options, medical appointments and so the list goes on. Despite our local MP “looking into it” I have had no feed back or answer as to how they justified this change and just who was involved in the planning.
Getting around
As the public transport situation has degraded over the years, I have become more worried about my ability to get around "when" I am no longer able to drive. Therefore local facilities, like the community shop and hall will become more important to me.
